But, if you unplug the battery when the battery capacity is not up to 80%, and plug it again it will still charge the battery to the full 100% capacity. This is to prevent the battery from over charging and damaging the battery.

5Make sure you read directions

Bought this as a gift. Product description says phone will fit charger with a slim case. Almost returned it because I didn't read paperwork. Went to put phone in charger with its case on & it wouldn't fit. The next day when I went to put back in the box to return I realized that it looked as if there was an insert in the base that came out. I tried prying it out & now the phone fits perfectly with its case on. The insert has a very snug fit so don't b afraid to use a little pressure to get the base to pop out. Glad I noticed it before I shipped it back. Very convenient being able to charge phone & spare battery @ same time.

4RAVPower to the rescue

This is the second RAVPower item I've owned. Having loved the 10400mAh External Battery Pack Charger Power Bank, I was excited to try out the RP-UC04 desktop charging cradle. It was good timing since I was in the market for a Samsung Galaxy S4. Not surprisingly, the charger works like a charm. It's nice to have a charger I can keep on my office desk. It's not too big, not too small--just does the job. Fairly quick charging too. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because I have to remove my particular phone case to insert the phone into the charger. But that wasn't a deal breaker for me. I've read from other reviewers that they feel the cradle is roomy enough to accommodate some cases, however. Just be sure it'll work for your purposes.

The RAVpower Universal Micro-USB Desktop Charging Cradle & Sync Dock works great with my micro USB smartphones. It looks great with the Galaxy S4 as it is made for it. I like that I can charge my device and use it as an alarm clock so I can see the time. I really appreciate that they added the feature to charge an extra battery while the GS4 is charging I charge your device at the output of the wall charger you are using. It has rubbery feet on the bottom that keeps your phone from sliding around in the stand. It also has these pads on the bottom to prevent the stand from sliding. You can use this stand to sync with you PC also. This stand does works with cases.

I like the glossy and matte black color of the stand to match my phone. I also like that the stand has a little weight to it so I feels like it was not made cheaply.
