Go wireless for your wireless phone!

Overall this product is simply amazing. It offers true wireless freedom at an affordable price. I highly recommend this.

For those unfamiliar with wireless charging, what you do is you place your device on the charger in a specific spot and it charges through the air. If your device has built in Qi wireless charging capabilities then you will not need any special hardware. If your phone does not, then you will need a special Qi wireless charging case that fits over your phone and plugs into the phone's charging port.

I reviewed this using the HTC Droid DNA, which has built in Qi wireless charging capability. I have the Ballistic case over the phone. The Ravpower wireless charger works flawlessly with it. I have been using this for over 2 weeks.

Pros:
1) The charger is about the size of a Samsung Galaxy S4. It comes with a 3 foot USB cable and a USB AC adapter. Leave it on your table and just lay your phone onto it. It's that simple. If you're like me you're tired of having to fiddle with your charger for the phone, trying to fit the cable directly into the hole. And my phone came with a USB cover and after about 3 months of opening and closing it to charge it broke off. This wireless charger will solve all your annoyances.

2) There is a red light on the edge of the charger. When you place your phone correctly it blinks between red and green and makes a beep one time so you know you did it right. That's a big plus for when you 1st wake up, don't have your contacts in, and are so tired you don't know which way is up.

Cons:
1) Minor complaint, the charger is white. I wish it came in black. I like darker coolers so when you inevitably get smudges and dirt on the devices it doesn't show up as much. Since this is going to be stationary I doubt it will get any smudges. But I would still prefer a black color.

Side note:
This charges a little slower than directly plugging into the AC adapter. It's like that for any wireless charger. This is not an emergency "I need as much charge as I can get in 30 minutes" thing. This is if you have time to get a good 4-5 hour charge on your phone.

Conclusion:
Seriously, why have you not gotten a wireless charger yet? You will save yourself months of frustration trying to plug in your USB cable, destroying your cover to the USB port, and breaking charging cables. Get this and just put your phone down and pick it up when you're ready.

Perfect for me

The RavPower wireless charger is my fourth one I'm trying. I've had Nexus charger from Google, Nokia's Wireless Charger along with few others. This is by far the best one I've used. I've had it for two weeks and I had no problems at all. Here are some awesome take aways:

-It's very thin. Much thinner than most wireless chargers.
-Even thinner, it's much larger in area size, so it will fit most smartphones. As they get bigger, this charger will work for any size smartphone.
-More affordable than some. At $40+ it's almost half the price of Nokia's wireless charger.
-Doesn't look cheap but rather slick, no ugly marks.
-Charges Nokia Lumia 920 fast. In 2 hours, fully charged from 0 to 100%.
-Nice light indicator when the phone is placed right over the coil.
-Long cable. Enough to reach any night-stand.

Currently I'm using it with Nokia Lumia 920 and it's perfect for me. It looks better than Nokia's charger, although it doesn't come in awesome bright colors, but it fits the phone better. Nexus 4 also worked, when I had it.

Would recommend this charger over other pricey ones. Great product.

Great dock if you modify your case.

I bought this dock knowing VERY WELL that I would need to modify my case to use it. After doing so, the phone fits very well in this dock. The modification to the case only took a few minutes with small wire cutters and an emory board. I use a thicker case for my iPhone 5- an OtterBox Case. I posted a picture for all to see. The dock itself is very well made. I have two of them and they both work great- very solid. If you don't use a case (or a thin case), you'll need to put something (like felt pads) on the dock to support it as there will be much space between the back of the phone and the dock itself.

Good Dock, Little Expensive, Be Aware of Case Limitations

I've read a couple of reviews complaining about the cable pulling out when removing the iPhone/iPod Touch on this dock but I don't see how. I've uploaded a picture in the customer images to illustrate but the lightning connector on my dock is secured and does not pull out...and I don't think it can without excessive force. The only thing I can think is that people are reviewing this item but are thinking about the previous version of this dock which did just have a loose lightning cable inserted along with an audio jack.

The cable itself is pleasantly long...enough for me to comfortably move the dock around on my desk.

I have a thin case but be aware there is only about 4mm space between the front of my iPhone and the raised edge of the dock...4mm of space for your case (front and back).

The only complaint I have with this is it's a bit expensive...but I knew that going in.

Great But Could Be Better

Ok, here is the deal folks, Belkin is restricted by Apple regarding the production of the Lightning Connector. It is Apple's rules that made Belkin to have to make this Dock the way it is.

I use a Spigen Slim Armor case on my iPhone 5 and no, the dock will not work with this particular case. HOWEVER, if you are willing to take about 10-15 minutes of time, this dock is VERY easily modified.

1- CAREFULLY peel off the black rubber piece from the bottom. There you will find 4 Phillips Head screws.
2- Take the Screws out.
3- Bottom plate and the weight will come out with the cable.
4- Using an X-Acto knife, score the rubber 1/8" down from the top edge on both sides and on the edges. Make sure togo nice and slow and use a metal ruler or other guide to keep the scoring as straight as possible.
5- Once you have scored all the way around an 1/8" from the top edge, you should be able to peel this part off. You might want to cut from the top right up against the lightning connector sides to make this easier.
6- Once this piece is off you should see the metal embedded within the rubber. Using a file shave off just a bit more on both sides.
7- to check your progress, place this connector piece back into the dock, secure with at least one screw and place the phone in the dock (with the case on) and see if you have taken off enough for the connector to reach all the way. If not, keep
taking off a little more at a time.
8- To make it look a bit more neat, just use some black electrical tape and trim to the shape of the oval piece. (it just makes it look a bit nicer!)

I have done this on 4 docks now and each one looks great and functions very well. I do not recommend a Dremal tool unless you are VERY experienced! If you damage the connector at all, you will not be able to charge or sync.

Nice looking and sounding dock for the Samsung; buttons are a bit too small

This is an attractive docking station for the Samsung for your desk. It is a bit on the large side – the base is about 7 inches wide and 4 inches deep, so it does take up a bit of space. But for me, that’s not a bad thing since I appreciate the stability it provides. The base has a padded bottom with non-slip feet. That, plus the size of the base, keeps it in place very well even if jostled.

The overall build quality seems good. I really like that it has a matte white finish rather than the shiny finish. Looks nice, plus zero fingerprints can be seen.

The docking ports to hold the phone and the “tower” (which has a speaker and control buttons) are firmly attached and hold everything securely. It also comes with a USB cable for connection to a power source.

In addition to serving as a charging station, it has bluetooth capabilities for hands-free use. No problems pairing it, and the sound quality was quite good. The control buttons on the tower allow you to adjust the volume, plus there’s a multi-function button for pickup, hangup, call rejection, etc. The buttons have a nice positive click to them, but are very small. While this is a good choice for aesthetics, I would much rather have larger buttons for easier use. The multi-function button in particular is much too small. The volume control is a rocker-type switch. Again, for ease of use I’d prefer separate up/down – it’s too easy to hit this in the middle, and go up (or down) when you want to go the other way. The button size and placement are the reason I’m dropping this one star in its rating.

The dock also boasts of anti-radiation benefits. I can’t speak to whether that is true or not. I like it mainly for it’s design, sound quality and stability on my desk. Good choice (and a good looking choice) if you are looking for a Samsung dock for charging and hands-free use.

External Battery charger!

Works great! This is only an external battery charger and phone stand. This DOES NOT charge your battery while in your phone. As we all know with smart phones the battery is the weakest link so a second battery is a must! the LED light isn't overly bight so it doesn't look like a spot light at night. The stand feature holds the phone at a good angle for a desk.

For my last few phones i bought cheaper batteries and chargers and i always ended up being disappointed. The off brand batteries never powered my phone as long as the original and the more times i charged them the shorter they would actually power my phone. I also broke a couple of the crap chargers that came with the cheap batteries too.

With my Galaxy S3 I'm using the Techtiles and none of the cheap batteries have NFC, so they weren't an option for me this time around. The original Samsung kit is so much better than the cheap knock off batteries. Not only do they power my phone for as long as the battery that came with my GS3 but the NFC works too. The charger/stand looks and feels high quality and it comes with another micro USB ac adapter.

There is a reason the Hyperion and other batteries are cheaper than the real Samsung ones--they suck and dont work as well. Just save yourself the time and headache and buy the real Samsung like i did. You wont be disappointed!

Great for convenience

I've always had a spare charging station/battery for all my previous phones. It's really convenient having a fully charged battery - ready for install at any time. This particular one works as designed (charges the NFC spare battery that comes with it) and is able to hold your phone (landscape) at the same time. It would be nice though if it could charge your phone AND the spare battery simultaneously. The cradle area can fit the GS3 even with a (thin) TPU case on the phone. This newer design now has a front lip which is barely noticeable inside of the cradle that holds the phone in place when it has a case on. I only give it 4 stars because I think it should be able to charge the phone at the same time.
