4Nice Dock, Easy to Make better with some DIY
By Mike
The dock does exactly what it should. It is a little tight, I have the Ringke Fusion case on my N4 and it fits once you remove the insert. I think a lot of the difficulty is that the USB plug holds onto the phone so you can't easily pull it out with one hand. Putting the phone into the dock takes a few tries to figure it out, but once you do you should be able to slide it in without any trouble. It's mostly just lining up the USB port so it connects.

An easy "upgrade" is to add some weight. There are four screws under the rubber feet. Remove them and the bottom comes off easily. The dock is hollow, and only contains a short USB cord from the front to back. I added four lead fishing weights to the dock, and it gives it plenty of heft. I didn't even bother gluing them as they were pretty tight so they won't move around. Now the dock won't move around on my desk, and with a bit of practice you can removed the phone with one hand.

If you plan on using this 10 times a day, you probably will get irritated with having to fit it in and take it out. I have it set up for charging on my night stand so I'm just using it in the morning and evening. If you want something on your desk so you can charge in between meetings at work, I'd consider a Qi charger instead.

UPDATE:
After a few days of using this dock it seems to be getting easier to take it in and out. Not sure if I'm just getting better at it, or if the dock and plug are just loosening up.

4Good Dock
By Nate
I had read some mixed reviews of RND docks for other models, but I'm quite happy with the Nexus 4 version and the price.

Pro's:
Nice simple black design
Good viewing angle
Keeps phone in place, therefore minimizing damage to the micro USB port
No LED's anywhere on the dock
Works with almost any TPU case if you take out the insert (I use the Poetic bumper and a Diztronic TPU)

Cons:
Base is a little bit too light - It takes two hands to remove phone
AC power adapter is large, awkward, and at a bad angle
USB cable is about 12" too short to be very useful
Does not fit OEM Nexus 4 bumper case
Does not engage the "docking" features like Daydream (athough Android 4.2 settings can be set to engage daydream when charging)

4The good and bad
By Jon Foose
The good part of this dock is its angle. I currently use the Orb wireless charger for my nexus 4 and I have to say that the RND Dock has a much better viewing angle. Just slightly slanted back from a 90 degree angle makes it perfect for viewing.
Another plus is that it works with/without slim cases.

The bad is the weight of the dock. It's super light which means you need to be more gentle when interacting with your phone on the dock in order to not knock it around.
